At Motor City Free Geek, we are prepared to assist the non-traditional learner to succeed. You don't need a degree in computer science to join our learning programs. In fact, you don't need any experience or qualifications at all.
Learn to Help Your Career
Motor City Free Geek can help students prepare for the A+ certification tests. This is done by facilitating mentoring partnerships between students and mentors, and by providing a location and special equipment to support learning.
Learn by Volunteering
Volunteers will get a great hands-on education in what makes a computer tick. Learn to dismantle a computer, recognize the key components, test components, assemble computers, install and configure an operating system.

Ubuntu Linux is created by a worldwide team of expert developers and has all the application programs most often used: a basic office suite; web browser; media player, and more.
OpenOffice.org is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more.
It is available in many languages and works on all common computers. It stores all your data in an international open standard format and can also read and write files from other common office software packages. It can be downloaded and used completely free of charge for any purpose.
